Released just weeks before his passing in 1999, Valley Of Jehosaphat was Augustus Pablo’s final album: an enduring statement from a musician and producer whose melodica-led instrumentals and dub innovations helped shape modern reggae.
Across the decades following his foundational seventies recordings, Pablo continued to explore digital production and broaden his instrumental palette. Here, clear, detailed arrangements frame bass-heavy grooves and capture the peaceful essence of his music.
Following a limited Jamaican pressing in 1999 that omitted part of the album, Nature Sounds and the relaunched Rockers International present its first complete vinyl release. The double-LP edition includes five bonus tracks drawn from rare nineties material, including the previously unreleased “Kings Highway”. A CD edition is also available.
