The Gore

More than two decades in, Jeremy Greenspan and Matt Didemus remain electronic pop’s great melancholics. The Gore folds arty synth-pop, post-disco R&B and 2-step garage into something hushed and personal, sharing the intimate, late-night pull of So This Is Goodbye and Big Black Coat.

Born from the loss of Greenspan’s father and a close friend, the album is the more elaborate twin to 2022’s Waiting Game. It brings that record’s subtle, half-heard ideas into fuller view while reaching back to the haunted atmosphere of Junior Boys’ early albums. Their wintry, Hamilton-born sound invites close listening, spontaneous singalongs and unexpected movement alike.

Available on CD and limited-edition red double vinyl. The initial vinyl pressing comes in a gatefold sleeve with spot gloss.
