This Is White Noise!
Contrary to what the other customer thought, well they are misinformed. I wrote a review on play and Im writing the same review here to all them numan fans. Firstly all non live tracks are mostly rubbish, best forgotten! As for the live tracks they are all from the white noise album! And I think it was a brilliant performance if a bit echoey, want more previews and reviews then click on the white noise albums on this site and have a gander at the peoples comments there! this is just a poor numan compilation, why include half a cds live tracks and fill the rest up with poor material is beyond me! I suggest buying white noise and leave this aside altogether! there I said it LOL (It gets a 1star for the deviousness of this CD!) but white noise is great!

a generous 2
There are a couple of good songs, like 'Cars' and 'We are glass', but most of the rest is either depressing (does a title get any more depressing than 'My dying machine') or depressingly bad. Neither do I know if the songs would be better if you could actually make out the words: Gary Numan cannot sing. Plus, there is a really sickly blurb written by some music journalist in the liner saying how Gary was misunderstood by all the journalists in the 80s, but that it's all right to like him now. No it is not. You can like a couple of his songs, you can like some of the heavy electro and heavy bass guitar, but I defy anyone to like this album. Even worse, the last couple of songs are the fruit of Gary's dabbling with heavy Marilyn Manson-style death rock and they are truly even worse than the electronic stuff, which as I said actually has one or two redeeming features.
